 Hitting the /instances endpoint

An error occurred, please contact your administrator

This is when PowerConnect does its first connection to TM1. It tries to login to the instance you are selecting.

If you are getting the following error:

The Most Common reasons:

  • The TM1 Instance is down.

  • The credentials on the PowerConnect Admin Platform are not set, or are not valid

  • The user specified on the impersonation (the user you see on Power BI Desktop) is not set correctly in the }Clients dimension. You need either an element on the }Clients dimension that is the email of the user in Power BI Desktop, or by using the use_client_attribute_lookup

attributes and use_client_attribute_lookup parameters on the PowerConnect settings.yml and specifying an Alias for the }Clients dimension that contains the email of the user.

  • The settings for the instances are not correct in the settings.yml. Review the Authentication subsection on the PowerConnect Application Server Configuration section and configure it accordingly with the security type used by the instance.
