Part 1 - Fundamentals

Slice consists of two main components:

• Server Explorer

• Excel Add-in

The Server Explorer is powered by Arc and includes two core features: the Cube Viewer and the Subset Editor. For more details on these features, refer to the Part 1 - Fundamentalssection.

This training will focus on the Excel Add-in, specifically on how to build reports and leverage Excel for your analysis.

Objective of the training The objective of this session is to learn how to proficiently:

• Use the Slice Explorer’s interface

• Understand and use the Cube Viewer and subset editor toolbars and context menus

• Use Slice in Excel to either input and/or report data

• Use hierarchies in excel reports

• Understand and use the Slice excel toolbar’s features

• Understand and use Virtual Consolidations and Virtual Expressions
